QKB maintains the national commercial register and a separate beneficial ownership register. A simple extract answers questions about the registered company position. Search step by step
Check a company without an account
Open the company search
Open “Kërko për subjekt”. Enter the NUIS/NIPT in “NIPT”. Without an identifier, use “Emri i subjektit” for the registered name or “Emri tregtar” for the trading name. Select “Kërko” to search. [1]
Narrow the matches
Filters cover legal form, ownership category and registration dates. Expand “Vendndodhja” for region, city and address. A name fragment can return several similar names. Compare the entity identifier. [1]
Choose the document
Open the information button beside the correct result. “Ekstrakt i thjeshtë” displays the current extract, “Ekstrakt historik” the history and “Ekstrakt RPP” public beneficial ownership information. Download icons appear alongside them. Allow the document viewer to load. [1]
Obtain an electronically sealed commercial extract
Use the citizen service
Open e-Albania service 768, “Ekstrakt i thjeshtë/historik (Qytetar)”. Sign in as a citizen and select “Përdor”. The service requires no supporting application documents. [2]
Confirm the identifier and extract type
Confirm the target entity’s NUIS. Choose the simple or historical extract, then “Shkarko dokumentin e vulosur”. The service states that the electronically sealed extract is issued immediately and free of charge. It is also available in “Dokumentet e mia”. [2]
Obtain accounts or a certified document copy
Find the filing event
Open the historical extract and look for “pasqyrat financiare” or “bilanc” and the financial year. Check the links under “Lista e Dokumenteve”. An entry describing a filing does not itself contain the financial statements. [4] [1]
Request a specific copy
QKB’s paper-copy procedure requires the application form and an identification document by email to info.qkb@qkb.gov.al. Identify the company and the precise document, including the financial year. QKB will notify you to collect the copies at its headquarters and present the application and payment receipt. [7] [8]
Specify use abroad
The form distinguishes certified document copies from extracts or copies intended for legalisation. State the intended use. The register fee does not describe an apostille or international delivery as an included service. [8] [7] [6]

Entities and registered information
The commercial register covers sole traders and self-employed individuals, commercial companies, simple partnerships, and branches or representative offices. The search also lists savings and credit companies and agricultural cooperation companies as separate legal forms. [4] [1]
For an SHPK, the registered particulars include its seat and business purpose. They also cover formation, capital and members’ contributions, management and representation powers. The historical extract shows registered changes. The combined “Administrator/Ortak/Aksionar” field in the result does not by itself identify each party’s exact role. [4] [1]
Additional search keys
Expand “Të dhënat e individit” for personal identifier, administrator and member/shareholder fields. “Objekti i aktivitetit” covers business activity. The ownership filter distinguishes Albanian, foreign, mixed and Albanian state ownership. That category is separate from the beneficial owner register. [1] [12]
“Kërko për Emër të Lirë” checks whether a proposed new name is available. Use the company search to investigate an existing entity. The register entry page also links to the registration bulletin for events on a selected date. [15]
Foreign access and evidential form
The public QKB search and all three document views are accessible without an account, payment or CAPTCHA. The sealed e-Albania extract requires an account. Citizen sign-in uses a personal identification number (NID) and password. [5] [1] [2] [3]
The user registration form requires a personal identifier and an identity card expiry date matching civil register information. “Krijimi i llogarisë së Biznesit si i huaj” asks for an existing NUIS and the administrator’s personal identifier. It is a business account route. The forms do not explain whether a foreign individual can open a research account using only a passport. Start with the guest search; contact QKB about document copies if you need authenticated records without a suitable account. [3] [7]
The law distinguishes certified paper copies from electronic copies, which are ordinarily uncertified unless certification is requested. The e-Albania service expressly describes an electronic seal with legal effect. It states no fixed expiry period. The retrieval date still matters when assessing current representation. [4] [2]
Fees and what they cover
QKB’s published tariff under Decision 503/2007, amended in 2015 and 2017, sets ALL 100 for a current paper extract. A historical paper extract costs ALL 100 for up to 20 sheets, ALL 500 for 21–100 sheets and ALL 1,000 above 100 sheets. Electronic procedures are listed at ALL 0. The current e-Albania service confirms that simple and historical extracts are free. [6] [2]
A copy of the articles, balance sheet or shareholder list costs ALL 100 each. The tariff for other supporting documents expressly covers one document. These are not prices for an entire company file. The tariff texts do not show VAT separately or quote an international delivery price. [6] [9]
Annual accounts and coverage limits
Financial statements are filed documents. QKB gives 31 July 2026 as the deadline for 2025 accounts. Management and audit reports must also be filed where legally required. Its notice of 7 July 2026 describes the filing population by reference to corporate income tax or personal business income tax liability and annual turnover above ALL 5 million. [10]
Medium-sized and large entities and public-interest entities must also publish the required reports on their own websites. QKB offers separate data reports covering multiple companies: ALL 5,000 for up to 20 named entities and ALL 6,000 for 21–100 entities, both with a stated two-day response period. These packages differ from a single balance-sheet copy at ALL 100. [11] [9] [6]
Check beneficial ownership separately
The RPP covers direct or indirect ownership of 25% or more, as well as control by other means. Public fields include name, nationality, birth month and year, date of designation as beneficial owner, and type and percentage of ownership. Personal identification numbers and addresses are outside this freely accessible list. [12]
The public RPP document carries a “VIEW ONLY” watermark and can be viewed without signing in. The separate paper tariff is ALL 100 for a simple extract. Historical RPP paper extracts of 21–100 sheets cost ALL 500 and those above 100 sheets cost ALL 1,000. That table does not specify a separate historical-extract item for up to 20 sheets. [1] [13]
Additional non-public information requires a separate application and a statutory entitlement. Other applicants must demonstrate a legitimate interest. The fee is ALL 1,000, with a ten-working-day period subject to examination and payment. Protective grounds can justify refusal. The law provides five working days for written public extracts. [12] [13]
The RPP also covers certain non-profit organisations whose underlying registration is outside the commercial register. Sole traders are exempt from the RPP obligation. The exemption also covers entities whose sole shareholder is the central or local government of the Republic of Albania. Check the entity type before interpreting the absence of an RPP match. [12]
How current is the shareholder information?
An SHA does not have to report each share transfer separately. Article 43(4) requires the registered shareholder list with the annual accounting documents. Check its date and consult the RPP where appropriate. RPP information also depends on declarations from reporting entities. [4] [12]
Language versions of filed documents
Documents accompanying a registration application must be filed in Albanian. The company may also file a certified translation in another language. When ordering document copies, ask about any translations on file. [17]

Avoid common mistakes
- The citizen service expressly covers extracts for any registered company. Business accounts and filing services have different conditions. Do not transfer company formation requirements to the public search. [2] [3]
- An RPP extract and a shareholder list answer different ownership questions. Account for the 25% threshold, other forms of control and the SHA shareholder-list update cycle. [12] [4]
- QKB excludes voluntarily filed telephone numbers and email addresses from its additional data-report services. [9]

Can I research without an Albanian account?
Yes. The QKB search and all three public document views are available without an account. The sealed e-Albania extract requires sign-in. [1] [2]
Does a sealed extract cost money?
The current citizen service explicitly states “Pa pagesë”, meaning free, for simple and historical extracts. Authentication is still required. [2]
