Choose the right register
Start with the free Online Services Portal search. A Statement of the Register then provides consolidated public registry information. It does not supply annual accounts or current shareholders: the official ordering guide says the Registry does not hold financial/account information or a current shareholder record. [1] [2]

Registers and data covered
The portal guide covers companies, limited liability partnerships, limited partnerships, foundations and charities. “Profile” shows basic details, “Officials” managing officials and “Events” the latest submissions. [2]
Shareholders and annual accounts
The ordering guide identifies the 2008 Annual Return as the last document showing shareholders. It also says financial information and company-secretary records are not held by the Registry. This does not provide a current shareholder list. [2]
Processing and archives
The Registry aims to process unscanned documents within 24 hours. Dissolved entities, older paper files and January/February annual-validation workloads can take longer. The sample warns that filings before 1 July 2008 may not all appear in the electronic record. [2] [4]
Official samples and reading guides
Official sample: Statement of the Register
Two-page English PDF for “Test Company Limited”, clearly marked SAMPLE. Shows basic details, former names, directors, resident agents and filed documents. [4]
