Choose the right register
RCS is Luxembourg’s Trade and Companies Register, operated by LBR alongside other registers. Its public file supports checks on a specific entity. RESA contains official publications, while RBE is the separate beneficial-ownership register. RCS access does not automatically grant RBE access. [1] [2] [3]

Search step by step
Find the company and its filings
Identify the correct file
On the LBR home page, select “Dossier d’une entreprise ou d’une association” under consultation services. Search “Numéro RCS” by identifier or “Dénomination” by name. Match the result against the registered office, legal form and registration date. [4]
Inspect the record and documents
The file includes the name, RCS number, registered office and branches. “Informations supplémentaires” contains additional identifiers and trade names. “Liste des dépôts” leads to filed documents; “Publications” to notices. Use anonymous access for public inspection. [4] [3]
Order signed evidence
Choose product and format
In the company file, select “Commander un extrait ou un certificat”. Choose the document, language and electronic or secure-paper format. Supply a delivery address for paper. Check “Coût de la commande (HTVA)” and the linked tariff table. [4] [5]
Pay and retrieve the document
Anonymous orders require a valid email address. Review the basket and confirm the order; payment is through Saferpay. After completion, anonymous users receive an email giving access to a temporary download area. Authenticated users can also find orders under “Mon Compte”, “Suivi de mes demandes”. [5]

Entities and information covered
The RCS includes commercial companies, sole traders, foreign-company branches, economic interest groupings, civil companies and certain associations and foundations. Depending on legal form, information includes the entity’s name, office, capital, management and representation powers. [1]
Annual accounts and publications
Accounts are filed at the RCS where the entity is subject to publication requirements. Search the filing list for the relevant financial year. A RESA notice may announce that accounts were filed; the notice is not itself the full financial statements. RESA publications are available free without authentication. [2] [4]
Anonymous access and electronic identity
The RCS terms permit anonymous access for inspection and extract orders. Alternatively, the service supports LuxTrust, Luxembourg electronic identity and eligible eIDAS identities. “Gérer cette entreprise” concerns management and filings for the company. Its stronger identity requirements do not apply to ordinary research on another company. [3] [4]
Request beneficial ownership separately
RBE access is available to legally entitled authorities, specified anti-money-laundering professionals and other authorised bodies. Other applicants must demonstrate a legitimate connection with preventing money laundering or terrorist financing. The law lists examples including journalism and a proposed business relationship. Signatures and the applicable tariff
The current order guidance describes electronic extracts with an automatically applied qualified signature and secure paper extracts with a handwritten signature. The tariff contains several electronic products. Automatically qualified-signed public register data are listed at €10.43 net, alongside a separate €15.43 net line for an electronic extract with a qualified signature. Automated access
The website terms restrict ordinary use to individual manual queries. Automated use requires the designated contractual access route. The annual API-access tariff is not a subscription that occasional document customers must buy. [3] [7]

Does a foreign researcher need LuxTrust?
