Choose the right register
The Uzņēmumu reģistrs maintains Latvia’s business and organisation registers. Its information portal covers companies, other registered entities and legal relationships. Entries and filings answer different questions: who represents the entity, what changed and which documents were submitted? [1] [2]
Current company information, history and public filings.
Requirements for register-issued statements.
Copies from registration and administrative files.
Names and abbreviations explained

Search step by step
Check current records and annual reports
Identify the entity
Search the information portal by name or registration number. Match the result’s registration number to your target company. Current registered data is available without authentication. [2] [1]
Read persons and status
Check the current address, representation, shareholdings and capital. The “Personas” area shows person relationships. Distinguish management, shareholders and beneficial owners. [2] [8]
Open history and filings
Authenticate for earlier entries and public files. In “Dokumenti”, select the required annual report or articles by title and date. Ordinary public online copies carry no additional certification of accuracy. [1] [4]
Order an official statement from abroad
Define the required information
State the company name and registration number. Choose current information or current and historical information. For a particular copy, identify the title, date and number of the document. The regulation permits a date of birth if the requester has no Latvian personal identity number. [5] [4]
Prepare the request and payment
Sign the request and provide payment evidence. The authority recommends making the bank transfer two days before applying. A power of attorney from the target company is unnecessary for generally available information. [3]
Use a suitable submission route
Send a signed postal request. Electronic requests generally require a qualified electronic signature and qualified timestamp. Suitable signatures from other countries are accepted under the requirements explained in the official signature guidance. [3] [7]
Specify delivery
Choose postal or electronic delivery. The service is provided after the request meets the requirements and payment is recorded. The statement service page gives a processing range from immediate service to two working days. [5] [3]
Documents and fees
| Document / information | Contents and purpose | Fee | How to get it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Current company information [1] | Name, registration number, status, address and current recorded relationships. | €0 | Public search without authentication. |
| Annual reports, articles and public filings [1] [4] | Submitted documents supplied online without additional accuracy certification. | €0 | Authenticate to retrieve documents from the public file. |
| Register-issued statement [5] [3] | Current or current and historical information for one registered entity. | €9 | Signed request and payment evidence; postal or electronic delivery. |
| Certified registration-file copy [6] [4] | A copy of a specifically identified filed document. | €9 per document; three working days | Identify the document title, date and number. |
| Record-keeping file copy [6] [4] | For example, administrative correspondence not appended to the registration file. | €4.50 per document; five working days | Written request, with justification for restricted contents. |
Entities and legal relationships
The services cover companies, associations, foundations, political parties, foreign representative offices and commercial pledges. A self-employed individual registered only with the tax authority must be distinguished from an entity entered in the Enterprise Register. [4] [12]
What the documents establish
Public registration files can include articles, annual reports, shareholder-register sections and specified reorganisation documents. Articles set rules such as capital and representation. The official template guidance excludes the current address, named officeholders and individual shareholder allocations from the articles. Use current entries and ownership filings for those details. [4] [11]
“Current” means the latest recorded information when the enquiry is fulfilled. Historical information concerns earlier entries and previously appended documents. [5]
Authentication and European identities
“LOGIN” opens the official sign-on service. It offers eID, eID Scan, eParaksts mobile, Smart-ID, eIDAS and bank identification. eIDAS provides access using supported European electronic identities. An offered option does not demonstrate acceptance of a particular foreign credential. [13]
Review beneficial ownership separately
The authority makes current information, including beneficial owners, publicly available. Historical and additional personal information can require authentication. This is separate from access to non-public case files. [9] [1] [2]
For companies, the official explanation uses more than 25% of capital or voting rights as one basis for identifying beneficial owners. Control can arise in other ways. A shareholder list therefore does not always identify the person exercising ultimate control. [8]
The registry is adapting its beneficial-ownership display to anti-money-laundering requirements. Multiple citizenships and the extent of control are not yet shown. Changing the interface language does not change the underlying dataset. [13]
Document fees and processing times
Regulation No 23 and the service pages provide a €9 fee for a statement on one entity. A statement confirming that specified information or documents have not been registered or submitted also costs €9. A copy from the registration file costs €9 per document, with three working days specified. [6] [5]
A copy from the authority’s record-keeping file costs €4.50 per document, with five working days specified. “Record-keeping file” is a different administrative file, not the ordinary registration file. The copies service excludes the day of submission when counting processing time. The tariff note states that VAT is not charged. [6] [4]
Restricted records and larger requests
A written request must state its purpose and grounds. Transfers of restricted information abroad must also satisfy the applicable legal requirements. [4] [5]
Official automated data access uses an API application and assigned permissions. Bespoke data selection costs at least €50.70 for three hours, followed by €17 per additional full hour. This is a separate service from free individual enquiries. [10] [6]

Frequently asked questions
Can I research without a Latvian identity?
Current information is accessible without authentication. Foreign requesters can use the postal route or a suitable qualified electronic signature for a written order. Those routes are separate from the portal’s supported authentication methods. [1] [3] [7]
Do the articles identify today’s shareholders?
The official articles guidance expressly excludes named shareholders and their individual allocations. Check ownership data and the relevant registration filings instead. [11]
