Choose the right register
The Registro Nacional de Sociedades (RNS) brings together data on private legal entities across Argentina. Its data comes from ARCA, the tax and customs authority. Use the legal name and CUIT/CDI to identify the entity, then the legal address to determine which local register holds the documents. [1] [2] [20]
The Inspección General de Justicia (IGJ) covers companies with their registered office in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires. Buenos Aires Province has a separate authority. The IGJ fees below apply only to IGJ services. The official Registros Locales directory links to the other competent registers. [5] [4]

Search step by step
Find a company and its competent register
Search by name or number
Open the RNS. Use CUIT / CDI when you know the identifier. Otherwise enter the legal company name under Razón Social and select BUSCAR. [1] [3]
Open the matching record
Compare the name with the legal form and registered office, then record the matching CUIT/CDI. The detail includes activities and addresses. A local registration number is shown only when available. [2] [3]
Follow the legal address
Use Domicilio legal to determine jurisdiction. For Buenos Aires City, continue with the IGJ. For a province, use its entry in Registros Locales. Domicilio fiscal is the tax address and serves a different purpose. [2] [4]
Order an IGJ information report or document copy
Find the IGJ company number
If you do not have the Número correlativo, open Estado de Trámites y Vistas. Select Por Denominación de la Entidad, then CONTINUAR. Enter the name without its legal-form suffix, up to 60 characters; replace & with Y as instructed. Enter the displayed security code yourself and select BUSCAR. The IGJ manual identifies this name search as the way to obtain the number. [18] [19]
Choose the required output
Use Pedido de informes for an information report and specify the facts required, such as the latest registered management or historical officeholders. Use Copias y Testimonios for document copies. Financial-statement requests require the reporting-period end date. [5] [7] [8]
Sign into TAD with the appropriate login
Enable TAD through ARCA with Clave Fiscal level 2 or higher. The specific service pages for financial-statement copies and certificates also list a Mi Argentina account as an alternative. Complete the relevant form and check the number of fee modules before paying. [5] [7] [8] [9]
Retrieve the result and open embedded attachments
The result and any queries arrive in the applicant’s TAD inbox. Download the PDF. The official guide recommends Adobe Reader: use the paperclip icon to open the embedded documents. A browser-only view may conceal those attachments. [6] [13]
Read a securities issuer’s annual financial statements
Use the public CNV search
Open Buscador Global and enter the name or CUIT in Nombre / Razón Social / DNI / CUIT. Select the appropriate issuer profile. The same company may also appear in another regulatory category. [16]
Narrow the financial documents
Open Información Financiera and then Estados Contables. Check the preset date range. Select the required financial year-end and annual report. Distinguish Individual from Consolidado, meaning separate company accounts and consolidated group accounts. [16]
Open the filing and its attachments
The public detail page identifies the reporting period. Its attachments include the accounts themselves under Estado Contable and separate reports, such as Memoria (management’s annual report) and the independent auditor’s report. Use the download control for the required file. [16]

What the national search covers
The RNS describes its coverage as Argentine and foreign companies, civil associations and foundations. It brings together basic information on private legal entities. Request constitutive documents, registry certificates and complete case files from the competent local authority. [2]
The IGJ’s jurisdiction limits its document holdings. Records for companies under securities supervision may be held by the CNV. Cooperatives and mutual entities have a separate supervisor, as do insurers. The IGJ information-report page identifies the relevant authorities. [5]
How to interpret the information date
The RNS provides the legal name and legal form. It also shows the date of the constitutive contract and reported business activities. Addresses and a local registration number, where available, help you continue the research. [2]
The Fecha de Actualización footnote concerns changes to the CUIT data compared with a database created on 13 November 2018. Earlier changes are not shown there. This field is therefore not a complete history of all corporate registration events. Obtain the latest registered position or a specific instrument from the competent register. [1] [5]
Access from abroad and login requirements
The public RNS search and the CNV search route described here work without signing in. Neither requires a Mi Argentina account or a Clave Fiscal login. [3] [16]
IGJ orders through TAD follow the requirements for each service. The IGJ specifies Clave Fiscal level 2 or above for reports and general document copies. Its financial-statement and certificate pages also allow Mi Argentina. Creating that account requires a CUIL and an email address. Allow for this prerequisite if you currently have only foreign identity documents. [5] [7] [8] [9] [17]
TAD delivers the documents electronically. The IGJ lists PagoMisCuentas and Visa, Mastercard and American Express as payment methods. [6]
Shareholders and beneficial owners
The IGJ expressly states that it does not maintain shareholder registers for share companies. Registering shares and relevant measures is the company’s responsibility. An information report on management therefore does not provide a current shareholder list. [5]
Despite its name, the national Registro Público de Beneficiarios Finales does not offer general third-party company access. Organismos is restricted to the designated authorities and bodies acting within their remit. Contribuyentes lets taxpayers view only their own information: their own beneficial owners or their own status as a beneficial owner. [14]
The rules require eligible users to hold Clave Fiscal level 3 or above and an established electronic tax address. [15] [14]
Financial statements and the SODA transition
An IGJ application can request a copy of one financial statement. Specify the financial year-end. The IGJ expressly states that SRLs outside article 299 do not file accounts with it, so a general IGJ accounts archive should not be assumed for these companies. For issuers, also use the public CNV route. [8] [5] [16] [21]
Since 1 July 2026, the Sistema Online de Documentación Abierta (SODA) has accepted specified annual financial filings electronically. It is the IGJ’s new filing system and requires Clave Fiscal level 3 or above. The service pages still direct the copy orders described here through TAD. The new platform should therefore not be treated as an unrestricted public financial-statement archive. [11] [8]
Calculate fees and choose the right document
The IGJ charges in modules. Its official calculator states a module value of ARS 1,500 effective from 8 April 2024. The peso amounts below are calculated as the relevant service’s module count multiplied by ARS 1,500. An information report costs eight modules; a standard copy request costs six. [10] [5] [7]
For requests exceeding 100 pages, the IGJ requires another paid form for each 100 copies. Isolated individual registration entries each require their own form. Urgent copies are limited to commercial companies with a Número correlativo greater than 1,000,000. [7]
Certificate fees and prerequisites depend on the company category. CEVIP and certificates of continued existence for a change of jurisdiction are available only through the standard procedure. Urgent processing of the designated existence, registered-office and precautionary-measures certificates is limited to commercial companies with a Número correlativo greater than 1,000,000. [9]
For CEVIP, the company must remain within its registered term. Where required for its legal form, fees must have been paid and financial statements filed. A certificate of continued existence for a change of registry jurisdiction also requires the absence of precautionary or insolvency measures. [9]
Since 10 August 2026, the IGJ has delivered registered documents with a digital registration cover through TAD. It expressly distinguishes delivery from submission: procedures under General Resolution (RG) 5/2026 still begin with an in-person appointment. For a document-only order, use the TAD service described above. [12] [6]

Avoid common mistakes
- Buenos Aires can mean the city or the province. Establish the exact legal address before placing an IGJ order. [4] [5]
- A same-name RNS result is not a unique match. Compare the CUIT/CDI and legal address. [2]
- The actual instruments may be embedded attachments inside the registration-cover PDF. Open its attachment panel before treating a document as missing. [13]
- The Sociedades extranjeras tariff concerns a foreign company in the IGJ register. It is not a surcharge for a foreign researcher. [9]
Frequently asked questions
Can I start without an Argentine login?
Yes. Use the public RNS search. The public CNV route described here also works without signing in. The relevant Argentine digital login is required when placing an IGJ order through TAD. [3] [16] [5]
Will an IGJ information report identify the current shareholders?
The IGJ expressly states that it does not maintain a shareholder register for share companies. A report on management answers a different question. [5]
How much is a copy of the financial statements?
The IGJ quotes six modules for the standard procedure. At ARS 1,500 per module, this is ARS 9,000. One financial statement may be requested per application, and you must specify its year-end date. [8] [10]
Why does the company-number search require a security code?
The IGJ name-search form includes a manual security check. Enter the name without its legal-form suffix and transcribe the displayed code yourself. [19]
