Choose the right register
AHU Online is the portal of the Direktorat Jenderal Administrasi Hukum Umum, the Directorate General of General Legal Administration within the Ministry of Law. The public “Pencarian/Unduh Data” entry means “Search/download data”. Use it for company research. A notary’s filing account for incorporations and changes serves a different purpose. [1] [2] [4]
Identify the legal form first. Choose “Perseroan” for an ordinary PT. Perseroan Perorangan has its own category: this is a single-person legal entity for qualifying micro and small businesses, rather than an unincorporated sole trader. [2] [4]

Names and abbreviations explained
- PTPerseroan Terbatas
- A limited company with separate legal personality. The ordinary share-based company is called Perseroan Persekutuan Modal in the current fee schedule. The special single-person form is Perseroan Perorangan. [4]
- PMAPenanaman Modal Asing
- Foreign investment. A PT with foreign shareholders is subject to the corresponding investment status; it remains a PT for register research. [5]
- NIKNomor Induk Kependudukan
- Indonesian population identification number. The published profile-order instructions require the purchaser to enter this number. This is separate from the nationality of the company’s shareholders. [2]
- SIMPADHU / PNBPSIMPADHU: AHU fee-voucher entry; PNBP: Penerimaan Negara Bukan Pajak
- The voucher pays for an AHU service. PNBP means non-tax state revenue, including service fees. IDR and Rp denote Indonesian rupiah. [2] [3]
- SABHSistem Administrasi Badan Hukum
- The electronic administration system for legal entities. Companies or their notaries submit statutory filings through it. [4]
- Direksi / Dewan KomisarisBoard of directors / board of commissioners
- The register distinguishes the company’s management from its supervisory body. Both groups are separate from shareholders. [8]
- Pemilik ManfaatBeneficial owner
- A natural person with ultimate economic benefit or control. Control can go beyond a shareholding, for example through powers to appoint or remove management. [4]
Search step by step
Identify the company through the free search
Open the correct category
Open AHU Online’s “Pencarian/Unduh Data”. Choose “Perseroan” for an ordinary PT. For a Perseroan Perorangan, use its separate category. [2] [4]
Search by the full company name
Enter the full name in “Cari Profil Perusahaan di Indonesia” and click the magnifying glass. The public PT service is a name search. [1] [2]
Match the name and address
Compare the result’s name and address with your existing documents. These details appear before the paid profile order. If there is no match, check the legal form and ask the company for its ministerial registration document. AHU explicitly describes recognised PTs whose records have not yet entered the database. Order an official PT profile as a PDF
Choose the scope and current tariff
Select “Profil Terakhir” for the latest registered data or “Profil Lengkap” for the fuller available register data. Since 1 August 2026, the individual state fees are IDR 100,000 and IDR 500,000 respectively. The older IDR 50,000 fee for an ordinary PT’s latest profile no longer applies. [2] [3]
Prepare the purchaser’s details
The published order form requires email address, full name, NIK, date of birth, address, mobile number, purpose and voucher number. If you do not have an NIK, clarify your available order route with AHU’s contact centre before paying for a voucher. [2] [6]
Use the matching fee voucher
Open voucher purchasing through “Simpadhu” on the AHU homepage or the link in the profile form. Purchase the fee voucher for your requested profile. Enter its number in the completed form and send the request using “SUBMIT”. [2]
Save the PDF promptly
The transaction page provides a red “Download” button. AHU also emails a download link to the address you entered. The instructions say this email link remains usable for seven days after the transaction. Save the PDF with its retrieval date. [2]
Research beneficial owners separately
Open the beneficial-owner service
Use “AHU Pemilik Manfaat Korporasi”. Select the corporation type, enter the corporation’s full name and run “Cari”, meaning search. [1]
Read the declaration alongside the profile
Match the declaration to the company you identified. Compare the named beneficial owners with the shareholders and officers in the register profile. [4] [6] [8]

Which entities use which search
The PT search covers limited companies. A PT may have foreign shareholders. Perseroan Perorangan uses a separate route and may be formed by an Indonesian citizen with an NIK. That founder requirement is not a general access rule for visitors to the public search. [2] [4] [5]
AHU’s data entry also provides separate categories for Yayasan, meaning foundations, and Perkumpulan, meaning associations. Search those entities in the appropriate category. An absent PT result does not determine whether they are registered. [2]
What the company register contains
The statutory register fields include name, registered seat, full address, business purpose and capital. They also include the numbers and dates of incorporation and amendment deeds, with the corresponding ministerial decisions or receipt notices. [8]
Other fields cover the notary, shareholders, directors and commissioners. Dissolution and termination of legal-entity status are also register matters. Public-company shareholder information is subject to the specific capital-market rules. [8]
“Profil Terakhir” focuses on the latest registered position. “Profil Lengkap” is the fuller data output. A profile order provides a PDF of register data; name the specific instrument if you need an incorporation deed or a particular ministerial decision. [2] [8]
Overseas access and the NIK field
The name search is publicly accessible. Ordering documents adds purchaser identification: the published official instructions expressly list an NIK field. If you lack that number, clarify the permitted order route before purchasing a voucher. AHU’s contact centre lists cs@ahu.go.id and +62 21 3001 5800. [1] [2] [6]
A notary’s SABH account is used to file company events. You do not need to engage a notary to use the public name search. If you engage a local researcher for document retrieval, specify the company name, profile scope and their own service charge separately from the state retrieval fee. [1] [2] [4]
How to interpret beneficial-owner information
Beneficial owners have a separate search. Declarations identify natural persons with economic benefit or control over a corporation. [1] [4]
Regulation 2/2025 provides for risk-based verification by companies, notaries and authorities. On 16 December 2025, AHU also acknowledged incomplete reporting and data-quality limitations associated with self-declarations. Treat a result as a reported relationship and corroborate unusual control arrangements with further documents. [6] [7]
Financial statements and annual reports
For an ordinary limited company, financial statements form part of the annual report. Regulation 49/2025 requires presentation to the general meeting of shareholders within six months after year-end. The notarised approval is then submitted with the annual report through SABH. [4]
The law includes balance sheets and profit-and-loss statements of companies subject to audit among the register’s contents. Qualifying single-person micro and small companies also submit financial reports. Specify the required financial year and statements for financial research; the labels “Profil Terakhir” and “Profil Lengkap” do not replace that document selection. [2] [4] [8]
For issuers and public companies, the company’s own website is a direct primary source. Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK), the financial regulator, requires website publication of the annual report on the day it is submitted. Look in Investor Relations for “Laporan Tahunan”, the annual report, and within it for “Laporan Keuangan”, the financial statements. [9]
Profiles, replacement instruments and larger data packages
Replacing a lost or damaged ministerial document is a special service. AHU requires an application and, among other items, a police loss report made by the president director. This is different from ordering ordinary data about another company. [5]
The fee regulation also lists packages: 100 latest ordinary limited-company records cost IDR 5,000,000; a package of 100 Perseroan Perorangan records costs IDR 3,000,000. For larger research projects, clarify the package-order procedure and data selection with AHU. [3]
Avoid common mistakes
- The 2024 instructions still quote IDR 50,000 for “Profil Terakhir”. Since 1 August 2026, PP 30/2026 sets the ordinary limited-company fee at IDR 100,000. The IDR 50,000 Perseroan Perorangan retrieval fee is a separate tariff item. [2] [3]
- No search result may reflect a missing database entry. AHU’s FAQ explicitly addresses PTs with ministerial recognition whose records still need to be entered. Ask for the registration documents in that situation. [5]
- The seven-day link period is a retrieval deadline, not an expiry date for the company. Assess the registered position from the PDF and the dates of its entries. [2] [8]
Frequently asked questions
Can I check for a PT in the system without paying?
Yes. Search the full name and inspect the result’s registered name and address. Detailed company profiles are paid products. [1] [2]
Can I buy directly using a foreign passport?
The published order instructions require an NIK. They do not describe a passport substitute in this purchaser form. Clarify your order route with AHU before paying for a voucher. [2] [6]
