Choose the right register
The Kamer van Koophandel maintains the Business Register of businesses, organisations and their officials. Records of businesses that have ceased activity remain searchable. Coverage includes organisations such as foundations and associations as well as companies. Each registered entity has a unique KVK number. [1]

Save the original PDF

What an extract establishes
Public register information covers names, legal form, addresses and registration dates. Depending on the record, it also includes capital, establishments, officials and their signing powers. Sole-shareholder information may be present; this is not a promise of a complete list of every shareholder. Certain private or protected address information is available only to users with statutory entitlement. [1]
Access from abroad
KVK permits public research by anyone and purchase of certified extracts without sign-in. DigiD or European eID mainly serve Mijn KVK and your own organisation’s information. Identity linkage for that service is not a general company-research requirement. Apply for an access code for other products; the code is free but ordered products are charged. [2] [4]
History and financial statements
The history product covers previous names, business addresses and activities, and former officials. It does not display historical foundation or association addresses. Registered changes from 23 May 2010 are available online; for changes registered between 1993 and that date, KVK directs users to its telephone service. [7]
Accounts are available when a legal entity subject to filing obligations has actually filed them. KVK states a seven-year retrieval period counted from the first day of the calendar year following submission. Depending on the filing, delivery may be PDF, converted PDF or structured financial data. Not every available format is a certified document. [6]
Separate beneficial-ownership access
UBO information is not public. An extract is available to a person authorised to make register changes for the organisation or granted specific UBO-access rights. A beneficial owner without signing authority can inspect their own data, but this does not automatically entitle them to order an extract. The extract costs €3.10 and remains downloadable in Mijn KVK for 24 hours after ordering. [8]

Avoid common mistakes
- An English extract does not translate every field. KVK lists business-description text, detailed power-of-attorney restrictions and foreign court decisions among possible Dutch-language sections. [3]
- The seven-year accounts retrieval period is tied to the submission date, rather than simply the financial year on the document. [6]

Do I need DigiD for another company’s extract?
No. A digitally certified extract can be purchased without signing in, using a credit card or iDEAL. [4]
Does printing a certified PDF preserve its official status?
KVK explains that printing removes the verifiable digital certification for official use. Forward the original digital file or order the paper version. [4]
