Choose the right register
The Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority, ACRA, operates Bizfile. It combines a public entity search with purchases of official information products. Free search results and paid Business Profiles provide different levels of detail. [1] [3]
Search by name or Unique Entity Number first. A Business Profile is the next product for a general company check. For historical changes or financial statements, select the relevant filed document as an Extract. [1] [2] [3]
Names and abbreviations explained
- ACRAAccounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority
- Singapore’s corporate registration and accounting regulator, which operates Bizfile. [1]
- UENUnique Entity Number
- An organisation’s identifier. Search filters also support previous UENs. [1]
- Business ProfileOfficial entity profile
- A compilation of basic register information. It is a separate product, not a full set of financial statements. [3]
- SSICSingapore Standard Industrial Classification
- The classification of business activities. Industry searches accept five-digit SSIC codes or descriptions. [1]
- RORCRegister of Registrable Controllers
- Information on persons or entities with beneficial ownership or control. The central RORC is not public. [6]
- EPCExempt Private Company
- A category of private company. A solvent EPC may be exempt from filing public financial statements. [7]
- SingpassIndividual-user login
- ACRA uses Singpass for its Individual User login. It is not needed for the Business Profile guest-purchase route described here. [2]

- ACRA uses Corppass to access an entity’s Business User dashboard. Guest Business Profile purchases are available separately. [2]
Search step by step
Find a company and purchase a Business Profile
Open Entity search
Select Entity on Bizfile and enter the name or UEN. Name filters include Name starting with, Name exact match and Name containing. For an identifier, select UEN (including previous UEN). [1]
Narrow down the result
Use entity type and status filters. Open More information and compare status, address and identifier. For non-ACRA entities, the Issuance agency filter helps identify the relevant registering authority. [1]
Select the correct product
Add the matching entity’s Business Profile, priced at SGD 5.50, to the cart. Check the company and UEN before paying. ACRA does not refund a report purchased for the wrong entity. [2]
Pay as a guest and obtain the download code
Use guest checkout if you do not wish to use Singpass or Corppass. Supply a delivery email address and use an offered card or online payment method. The download code normally arrives within 15 minutes of successful payment. [2] [4]
Save the purchased file
Enter the download code and delivery email address on the product download page. Save purchased products within 30 days. ACRA does not extend that download window. [4]
Research activities or a person’s connections
Use Industry search
Search an activity description or five-digit SSIC code under Industry. Select up to five activities. Results cover live businesses and display up to 250 matches; refine filters for larger sets. [1]
Identify the person
People searches accept names, with Name containing and Name starting with filters. The SGD 33 People Profile is intended for business-connection research. [1] [3]

What the information products contain
Free searches provide basic details such as status and registered address. They also let you check whether an entity is a registered corporate service provider. ACRA describes Business Profiles as containing the UEN, name, registration date and information on position holders, owners or partners. [3]
Separate register products cover lists of members, directors, CEOs, secretaries or auditors. A historical annual return and a current register product answer different questions. Select the document for the date and information you need. [3]
Buying financial statements
Financial statements filed with an annual return are available for public purchase. Extracts include copies of these filings and start at SGD 11. The selected product determines the price. The SGD 5.50 Business Profile does not include a full set of accounts. [3] [7]
Not all companies must file financial statements. A solvent exempt private company may qualify for an exemption. The usual EPC category is a private company with fewer than 20 members and no corporate beneficial interest in its shares, directly or indirectly. ACRA also identifies a special government-owned EPC category. Further exemptions apply to qualifying dormant companies. [7]
The SGD 50 Corporate Compliance and Financial Profile combines register and compliance information with a financial profile, ratios and specified audit and director opinions. Check the period and actual data available. [3]
Access without a Singapore digital identity
ACRA explicitly allows its free searches without login and offers guest checkout for a Business Profile. Prepare the entity name or UEN, a working delivery email address and a payment method accepted by the payment provider. Singpass and Corppass are not required for this guest route. [2] [3]
ACRA directs purchases for Variable Capital Companies to the separate VCC iShop. Its product and download conditions must be checked separately; general Bizfile purchase conditions should not be assumed to apply there. [3]
Beneficial ownership and protected addresses
The central Register of Registrable Controllers holds beneficial ownership and control information. Members of the public cannot view or buy it. A shareholder who is not a company officer does not gain access merely by being a shareholder. [6]
Residential addresses are not an unrestricted research product. ACRA accepts separate requests only from legally specified groups. A ceased entity’s registered address may also be withheld to protect former owners’ privacy. [3]
Checking a received document
ACRA provides free trustBar verification for Business Profiles and incorporation or registration certificates. CCFPs, People Profiles, Extracts and register products use Bizfile’s product authentication service. [5]
Applicable certification has been electronic since 9 December 2024. ACRA charges SGD 1 per page for certification. Where overseas use requires additional legalisation, the Singapore Academy of Law offers that service for a separate fee. [5]
English translations of filed documents
When a corporation must file a document under the Companies Act and it is not in English, it must also file a certified English translation. [12]

Avoid common mistakes
- Free Business Profiles issued after eligible filings are an entitlement for eligible users, not a free copy of every company’s profile. [4]
- Missing financial statements may reflect a filing exemption. [7]
- A publicly purchasable people or members register is not the non-public RORC. [3] [6]
- Save purchased documents within 30 days. A purchase receipt does not extend the download window. [4]
Frequently asked questions
Can I buy a Business Profile from overseas without Singpass?
ACRA provides guest checkout with email delivery and online payment. Singpass or Corppass login is optional in that process. [2]
Does SGD 5.50 include the accounts?
No. The Business Profile is an entity profile. Filed financial statements are available as Extracts; the financial and compliance profile is another separate product. [3] [7]
Can I pay to see the beneficial owners?
The central RORC is not available to members of the public, including through a paid purchase. [6]
