Choose the right register
CIPO maintains the Commonwealth of Dominica’s company registers. Start with E-Registry: a name search shows basic entry details without an account. Document copies use a separate service. Dominica is a different country from the Dominican Republic. [1] [3]

Search step by step
Identify the entry and request the appropriate document
Search E-Registry by name or number
Open “Search By Name or Number”. Enter a company name, name fragment or registration number. No account is required for this search. [1]
Match the entry type and number
Distinguish between “Company” and “Business Name” in the results. Note the number and registration date. The “CARICOM” and “NON CARICOM” status labels indicate regional classification. They do not show whether the company is active or solvent. [1]
Choose a copy or certification service
Under “All Services > Local Companies”, choose “Uncertified Copy” or “Certification of any document”. Document requests require authorised access or a direct request to CIPO. [1]
Contact CIPO if you cannot access the service
The contact page lists cipoclerk@dominica.gov.dm and +1 767 266 3358 or 3359. Supply the company name and number. Specify the required document and date. Confirm plain or certified form, file format, language and delivery before paying. [6] [2]
Check the transition for an old IBC
Do not use an old IBC certificate as current register evidence. The government described a 2021 transition period to the ordinary Companies Act. Request the present registration position under the current name and number. [4] [5]
Documents and fees
| Document / information | Contents and purpose | Fee | How to get it |
|---|---|---|---|

| Certification of any document [2] [1] [6] | Certification of a register document. | XCD 10 in the published tariff; confirm any additional copying or search charges. | Listed separately under Local Companies. Specify the required document and version to CIPO. |
Public results and underlying documents
CIPO describes additional company filings, including director information and annual returns. Its guidance refers to financial statements or a certificate of solvency. [1] [3]
Published fees for ordinary companies
CIPO lists XCD 5 for a register search and XCD 1 per page for an uncertified copy, in addition to the search fee. Document certification is listed at XCD 10. A certificate or certification without a separately prescribed fee is listed at XCD 25. Distinguish the free online name search from the paid search service, and confirm the total for the specific document. [2] [1]
The former IBC regime has closed
The Financial Services Unit’s closure notice states that no International Business Company is registered in Dominica from 1 January 2022. The government announcement of 8 July 2021 describes the transition option under the Companies Act. Historical offshore documents alone cannot establish current registration. Obtain a current registry response for the present position. [4] [5]
Third-party and overseas access
Section 495 of the Companies Act supplied by CIPO allows any person to inspect records and obtain copies against payment, except for the special report under section 519(2). Free search requires no account. The copy service requires authorisation. Agree account access, payment and delivery with CIPO for an overseas order. [7] [1] [6]
Order registry copies
The E-Registry offers document services. The copy service requires sign-in. Specify whether you need an ordinary copy or a certified copy when making your request. [1] [6]
