Who can inspect the registry file

The official Nevis FAQ says any person who pays the prescribed fee may examine filed documents and make copies or extracts during normal office hours. Saint Kitts also describes fee-paying inspection by any person under section 220. These statements contain no nationality restriction. [3] [5]

In Saint Kitts, a copy of the annual return also requires a written declaration under oath. It must state the applicant’s name and address and an undertaking to use the information only for the permitted purposes. These include certain company meetings and takeover offers. Check with the Registrar that your purpose qualifies before ordering. [5] [10]

What may be in the file

The Nevis registry guidance describes the company name, office, agent, purpose and filed formation particulars. Internal shareholder records, minutes and accounting records are kept separately by the company. [1] [2] [3] [5]

Accounts in Saint Kitts

Public companies file accounts with the auditors’ report. Public-company status follows the memorandum and statutory rules. [6] [8]

An ordinary private company is a private company incorporated in Saint Kitts that is not an international company. It files either accounts with an auditors’ report, if any, or a solvency certificate. The solvency certificate includes total assets and liabilities and an assessment of the company’s ability to pay its debts. [6] [11]

If these accounts, reports or the solvency certificate are in a language other than English, a certified English translation must accompany the filing. Ask for the filed translation when ordering copies. [6]

Nevis document types and charges

The current IBC and LLC pages both list USD 50 for a Certificate of Good Standing. Plain copies cost USD 1.50 per page. Certified copies cost USD 30 including the first three pages, then USD 1.50 per additional page. A separate Certificate Certifying True Copy is listed at USD 35. Specify which certification product you need. [1] [2]

Digital delivery and paper documents

The Nevis fee schedule lists USD 10 for printing a certificate. CRISS lets you verify an existing certificate using its code. For orders, contact the relevant registry service. [1] [2] [4]

Saint Kitts: inspection and copy fees

The tariff published by the FSRC (SRO 7/2019) separates inspection of a file from the supply of a copy. These fees apply to Saint Kitts, not to the separate registry services in Nevis. [9]

File inspection costs XCD 54 or USD 20. Assisted inspection is listed at XCD 67.50 or USD 25. [9]

A certified document copy costs XCD 5.40 or USD 2 per page. If the Registrar needs to inspect documents to certify the copy, each required inspection adds XCD 81 or USD 30. A certified incorporation certificate or certified extract has a separate fee of XCD 81 or USD 30 per document. [9]

A scan costs XCD 13.50 or USD 5 per page. Specify the required pages and request the total charge including delivery when ordering. [9]

Avoid common mistakes

  • Nevis file inspection costs less than a written search report. Choose the product that meets your evidence requirements. [1] [2]
  • Certificate Authenticity requires an existing certificate code. It does not provide a general company registry extract. [4]

Frequently asked questions

Which CRISS functions can I use without signing in?

You can check the code of an existing certificate without signing in. Nevis CRISS registry services require an account. [4]

Must I use a local agent to inspect records?

The authorities describe public inspection for any person paying the fee. A Nevis company’s obligation to have a Registered Agent is a separate issue. Confirm the practical remote ordering route and account requirements with the registry. [3] [5] [1] [2]
