Choose the right register
The Superintendencia Nacional de los Registros Públicos (SUNARP) administers Peru’s public registry system. Company-related entries belong to the Registro de Personas Jurídicas, the register of legal persons. It records incorporation, articles and changes to the entity, including its registered governing bodies. [4]
The free Directorio Nacional de Personas Jurídicas helps identify a registered name. Formal documents come from the registry services. SUNAT’s public RUC enquiry adds tax status and business-activity information. Financial statements are available through the securities regulator SMV where the entity reports to it. [5] [1] [13] [17]
Free directory with Razón o Denominación and Siglas fields.
Account-based formal index searches, viewing and document requests.
Automated certificate using the office and partida, without a prior account.
Time-limited register viewing with Peruvian identity-document verification.
Tax status and business particulars by name or RUC.
Published separate and consolidated financial statements within the service’s coverage.

Search step by step
Identify the registry record from a company name
Search the free directory
Open the Directorio Nacional de Personas Jurídicas. Enter the legal name in “Razón o Denominación” or a known abbreviated name in “Siglas”. Select “Consultar”. The form may require security validation. [5] [6]
Record the office and record number
Document requests need the oficina registral and partida registral. Use the relevant registry result or ask the company for these particulars. A RUC number belongs to the tax register and does not replace them. [1] [12] [13]
Use the formal index search if identification remains unclear
SPRL offers a separate search of registry indexes to connect names with registry particulars. This paid service differs from the free directory, which is updated monthly. [1] [2] [5]
Choose the document for your purpose
Order a copia literal for the company’s register entries. To establish whether a named person still has registered authority to act for it, choose a certificado de vigencia de poder. [1] [12]
Order a certified copy without creating an account first
Open Copia Literal al Toque
Select the “Oficina Registral”. Under “Servicio”, select “Certificado Literal Automatizado de Partida Personas Jurídicas”. Enter the “Número de Partida” and choose “Buscar”. [8]
Check the identification requirements
No prior user account is required. The official description specifies DNI or RUC identification. [9] [10]
Check the extent and price before payment
Automated issuance is limited to 300 pages. The 2026 schedule charges 6.60 soles per page for a certified copy produced by photocopying or printing. The certificate tariff already includes the search charge. [8] [2]
Save the issued certificate
After online payment, the service produces the digitally signed certificate automatically. It is available for download and is sent to the email address provided. Follow the verification route indicated in the document to check authenticity. [9] [1]
Obtain evidence of a person’s authority to act
Use an SPRL account
Sign in to SPRL with a username and password. Account registration is free. The individual registration form provides passport and foreign-country options. [11] [10]
Choose the certificate type
Open “Solicitud de certificado”. Under “Área registral”, select “Registro de personas jurídicas”, then “Certificado de Vigencia de Poder PJ”. Select “Solicitar”. [12]
Identify the company and representative
Choose the registry office. Select “Partida”, enter the record number and choose “Agregar”. Complete the required particulars, including the representation concerned, before continuing the request. [12] [1]
Match the fee and result to your request
The current authority-certificate tariff is 33.00 soles. Multiple representatives or additional concurrent offices can attract separate charges. The application receipt and notification that the certificate is ready are sent by email. [2] [1] [12]
Add tax information and published annual accounts
Check SUNAT’s taxpayer record
Open “Consulta RUC”. Choose “Por RUC” for a known tax number or “Por Nomb./Raz. Soc.” for a name search. Refine broad names if too many results appear, then open the matching RUC result. [13] [14]
Read taxpayer status and domicile separately
Check “Estado del Contribuyente” and “Condición del Contribuyente”. “Activo” describes active taxpayer status. “Habido” concerns the taxpayer’s recorded domicile condition. Neither is a credit assessment. [13] [14]
Search the SMV by financial period
In SIMV, open “Información Financiera por Periodo”. Choose “Individual” for separate accounts or “Consolidada” for consolidated accounts. Select “Anual” and the year. Recheck the year after changing the period type, then select “Buscar”. [15]
Open the filed documents
Select “Ver Detalle” for the relevant entity. The document list distinguishes financial statements, statements with an auditor’s report (“Estados Financieros y Dictamen”) and, where provided, structured XBRL files. Check the financial year and filing date. [16] [15]

Entities and registered events covered
The legal-person register covers companies and other legal entities. The official overview includes share companies and limited-liability companies. Associations and cooperatives also fall within its register coverage. [4]
The company record documents registered events. To obtain the underlying instrument, request the título archivado. Register entries and supporting filings are different sources. A filing still being processed is not an archived document. [1]
The free name directory is updated monthly according to the official service description. Its information is indicative. [5] [1]
Access from abroad and identification
Article 7 of the registry-access regulation generally allows any properly identified person to request the formal services without stating a reason. Statutory restrictions and the relevant fees still apply. Each online service has its own identification requirements. [1]
The name directory opens without an account. Conoce Aquí requires a Peruvian DNI, further identity-document particulars and verification through RENIEC. It is therefore not the standard free viewing route for a person who lacks that document. [6] [7]
Select “PS-PASAPORTE” in the SPRL account form if you use a passport. You can select a foreign country of residence. Contact SUNARP about the requirements if account activation or payment fails. [10]
Copia Literal al Toque removes the prior-account requirement, but its official description specifies DNI or RUC. A person who only has a foreign passport should use the SPRL registration route with their own identity details. The guest service is not an identity-free retrieval promise. [9] [10]
SUNAT’s RUC search and the SMV financial-report search require neither sign-in nor a Peruvian identity number. [14] [15] [16]
What Conoce Aquí provides free
After DNI verification, Conoce Aquí lets users view registry records. Its terms limit use to five records per day per DNI, require at least three minutes between enquiries and limit each view to 30 minutes. Printing is not provided. [7]
The view is informational. It is not formal registry publicity or a certificate for administrative or court proceedings. For evidential use, obtain the required certified copy or specific certificate. [7] [1]
If the queried record is covered by “Alerta de Publicidad”, the registered alert subscriber receives a notification of the enquiry. According to the terms, this includes the requester’s name and official identification number. [7]
Fees and processing times
The amounts below follow amended SUNARP tariff Annex 2 of 6 March 2026. S/ denotes Peruvian soles, currency code PEN. Certificate tariff items C.1 to C.22 already include the search charge. An independent index search is a separate service. [2] [3]
A vigencia de poder is charged by representative. Powers granted to the same person across several entries do not by themselves create several person-based fees. Where the representative holds other offices concurrently, charging is by office. [1]
For a verbal request at a registry counter, an authority certificate has a three-hour deadline when all Article 49 conditions are met: request before noon, no more than ten pages, no pending filing, a company governed by the General Companies Act or an E.I.R.L., and no required information in older books or electronic record cards. Otherwise the maximum is three working days. [1]
For certificates requested online, Article 63 generally provides for issue on the day of receipt. Requests received after 1 p.m., lengthy certificates and other justified cases may take up to three working days. Article 13 defines the calculation in working days. Certificates issued automatically are immediate under Article 62; ordinary online viewing is also immediate under Article 60. [1]
The linked procedure page, dated 17 February 2025, still states 32.10 soles and calendar days. The current fees and time limits given here follow the 2026 tariff and registry-access regulation. [12] [2] [1]
Owners and beneficial owners
A registry copy is not automatically a complete beneficial-owner list. The statutory beneficiario final reporting process belongs to SUNAT. It concerns natural persons who ultimately own or control an entity. [18] [1]
The law specifies direct or indirect ownership of at least 10% of capital as an ownership criterion. Control through other means must also be assessed. If no natural person is identified under these criteria, the law provides a fallback based on the person holding the highest administrative position. [18]
The tax declaration is filed using RUC and Clave SOL through Form 3800. This protected filing process differs from the public RUC enquiry. The law governs use of the information by competent authorities. For an ownership investigation, also request ownership documentation and the company’s beneficial-ownership declaration. [18] [19] [14]
Annual accounts and structured financial data
The securities regulator’s SIMV publishes financial information from entities reporting through it. It is not a general accounts repository for every registered Peruvian company. Check that the entity and financial year appear in the results. [17] [15]
The search distinguishes separate and consolidated accounts, and interim and annual reports. A filing may include an auditor’s report and a structured XBRL file alongside the financial statements. Assess each document by the period covered, not solely by its upload date. [15] [16]
SMV also provides an official dataset of key financial-statement figures. Its documentation describes year, period and account-type parameters. The dataset concerns SMV-registered reporting entities. [17]

Avoid common mistakes
- Obtain the relevant registry certificate for that purpose. [13] [12]
- A negative certificate establishes a result within its stated registry scope. Read its register and office particulars before drawing a nationwide conclusion. [1]
- A pending filing may matter to the current position. The registry-access regulation provides for pending-title notices; archived documents and applications still being processed are not interchangeable. [1]
- The name form may report that security validation has not finished. That message is not a negative search result. [6]
- An electronic registry copy is not necessarily the complete incorporation instrument. Check the separate título archivado service for underlying filings. [1]
Frequently asked questions
Can I research a company from outside Peru?
The described public RUC and SMV searches work without an account. SUNARP’s name directory is also accessible without an account. For paid registry documents, the SPRL form provides passport and foreign-country options. Conoce Aquí instead requires a Peruvian DNI. [14] [15] [6] [10] [7]
Is a RUC number enough to order a registry copy?
The described SUNARP document route requires the registry office and partida registral. RUC identifies the taxpayer. Obtain missing registry particulars from the company or the official registry search. [1] [12] [13]
Which document confirms authority to represent the company?
Select a certificado de vigencia de poder for the person concerned. A copia literal reproduces registered entries. These documents answer different questions. [1] [12]
Are free annual accounts available for every company?
SMV provides the financial filings of entities reporting through it. Coverage does not automatically extend to every SUNARP-registered company. Check the entity, account type and financial year. [17] [15]
Is Copia Literal al Toque entirely anonymous?
No. A prior account is unnecessary, but the official description specifies DNI or RUC and online payment. The request also needs the registry office and record number. [9] [8]
Is the example an actual company extract?
The linked example is an official SUNARP guide to accessing the registry service, with illustrations of the portal. It is a reading aid, not a real company’s extract. [11]
