Choose the right register
The Registrar is the responsible register office. The published appointment notice of 16 August 2018 assigns this role to the incumbent Administrator resident on Pitcairn. The Auckland contact office should therefore not be treated as the location of the register. [1] [2]

Search step by step
Request inspection or certified records
Use the official contact
Email admin@pitcairn.gov.pn or call +64 9 366 0186. The Pitcairn Islands Office gives P.O. Box 105 696, Auckland, New Zealand as its postal address. Ask for your request to be routed to the Registrar of Business Names. [2] [1]
Specify the name and required evidence
Provide the trading name and any known operator details. For research, ask to inspect the index or statement. For formal evidence, expressly request a registration certificate or a certified copy or extract under section 15. [1]
Confirm costs and remote delivery
The published ordinance states 2 dollars for inspection and 3 dollars for a certificate, certified copy or certified extract. It allows fee changes. Confirm the amount currently charged, payment currency and payment method. Also ask about scans/PDFs, paper originals and delivery to your particular overseas address. [1] [3]

Distinguish trading names from companies
Section 3 covers, in particular, businesses trading under a name that differs from their actual personal or corporate name. For a corporation, the section 4 statement also records its corporate name and place and date of incorporation. [1]
What the filed statement contains
The form records the business name, nature of business, business location and commencement date. Further particulars concern individuals, partners or corporations depending on the operator. For a corporation, these include incorporation place and date, registered office and island business address. The exact combination depends on the legal form. [1]
Inspection is not framed as a citizenship-only right
Section 15 gives inspection and copy rights to any person. It does not specify local citizenship as a condition. A public online portal or email ordering service is not documented. Arrange identification, handling and delivery with the responsible office for a remote request. [1]
Fees and the published text’s status
The amounts of 2 and 3 dollars appear in section 16 of the published revised text. The laws page dates its revised collection to 15 January 2019 and lists later instruments separately. It expressly describes electronic legislative texts as informational rather than authoritative. The Currency Ordinance makes New Zealand notes legal tender and equates the Pitcairn dollar with the New Zealand dollar. Confirm current charges and accepted payment arrangements before ordering.
