Choose the right register
Cổng thông tin quốc gia về đăng ký doanh nghiệp is Vietnam’s National Business Registration Portal. It falls under the Ministry of Finance (Bộ Tài chính). For research, choose “Dịch vụ thông tin” or “Information services”. “Online registration” is the separate service for submitting enterprise registrations and changes. [1] [2] [7]
The national database brings together registration data across Vietnam. The local authority still matters: enterprise registries generally sit within the finance departments of provinces and centrally governed cities. High-tech park management boards handle registration within their parks. [2]

Names and abbreviations explained
- Mã số doanh nghiệpEnterprise code
- The enterprise’s unique registration number is also its tax number. It remains attached to the enterprise throughout its lifetime and is not reassigned when the enterprise ends. Use it as your search key. [2]

- The designation for a limited liability company. “Một thành viên” means a single-member company; the portal distinguishes it from companies with multiple members. Check the specific Vietnamese legal form when identifying an enterprise. [2] [1]

- A company with share capital. The detailed registry report distinguishes founding shareholders and foreign shareholders. These categories do not constitute a complete list of all present shareholders. [1]

Search step by step
Find and identify an enterprise
Open Information services
Choose “Products on a specific enterprise”. The English search form is publicly accessible. If a saved product-page link returns you to the homepage, select that menu item again. [7]
Start with the code or name
Enter the registration number in “Enterprise code”. Without it, use “Enterprise name”. Additional fields are “Enterprise name by foreign language”, “Enterprise short name”, “Representative first name” and “Head office address”. The representative field is explicitly labelled as a first-name field in the English interface. [7] [2]
Run and refine the search
Complete the displayed CAPTCHA yourself, then select “Search”. “Clear” empties the fields. The user guide says multiple criteria are applied together. Start with one identifying detail, then add the address if you need to narrow the results. [7] [5]
Match the identity and status
Open the matching enterprise name. Check the number and head office. Free information also includes business activities, the legal representative and legal status. For a branch, distinguish its own number from that of the parent enterprise. [2] [5]
Order the right document
Choose a product for your question
For a registration certificate, choose “Giấy chứng nhận đăng ký doanh nghiệp”. For changes over the past three years, use “Thông tin lịch sử doanh nghiệp trong 03 năm gần nhất”. For a broader current profile, choose “Thông tin đăng ký doanh nghiệp mới nhất”. Individual prices appear in the document table. [1]
Check the date and language
For a certificate, the user guide describes “Có giá trị đến ngày”, an as-of-date field. An earlier date returns the latest certificate that was valid at that time. The additional English text described in the guide is free, but expressly for reference alongside the Vietnamese document. [5]
Review the order and delivery details
Add the product to the cart. Check the enterprise, product and total. The user guide requires buyer details and a delivery email address. Processing notifications and the download link go to that address. Keep the order reference number. [5]
Allow for the delivery time
The product description says the certificate becomes available immediately after successful payment. The history report and current comprehensive profile are provided at 08:00 the following day. Successful payment does not mean that these reports can be downloaded immediately. [1]
Request filed records or financial statements
Choose the competent authority
Article 74(4) permits individuals and organisations to request registration information from the national registration administration or the competent provincial registry. Beneficial-owner data are excluded. For an enterprise in a high-tech park, its registration authority is the local contact. [2]
Specify the record you need
Give the enterprise name and code. Identify the document and period, such as financial statements for a particular financial year or a registration document of a specified date. The statutory fee is VND 40,000 per copy of filed records, including financial statements. Ask which version is available and how it can be delivered. [2] [4]
Confirm payment and document format
The portal lists dichvuthongtin@dangkykinhdoanh.gov.vn for information products and hotrothanhtoan@dangkykinhdoanh.gov.vn for payment questions. For an overseas order, confirm the accepted payment method and whether you need a digital copy or officially confirmed paper. Enterprises, branches and household businesses
Registration procedures cover limited liability companies, joint-stock companies, partnerships and private enterprises. Branches and representative offices receive their own numbers. A five-digit “Mã số địa điểm kinh doanh” identifies a business location and is expressly not a tax number. [2]
Household businesses (Hộ kinh doanh) have a separate dataset within the national system. Article 116 provides free access to their name, code, address, business activities and owner. Since July 2026, registration is handled by the relevant commune-level specialist office; if there is no such office, the commune People’s Committee performs the function. [2] [3]
A registered business activity establishes what was recorded in the registry. Check permission to conduct a regulated activity with the relevant sector authority. Article 7(8) assigns that supervision to those authorities. [2]
Basic data and detailed reports
The statutory free enterprise information comprises name, code, head office, business activities, legal representative and legal status. The law sets out separate basic data for branches and representative offices. A legal representative acts legally for the enterprise. [2] [3]
The current comprehensive profile adds capital information and registered participants according to the legal form. The product description lists owners, members, founding shareholders, foreign shareholders and dependent units. A “founding shareholder” category concerns incorporation. [1]
The enterprise history report covers the past three years. It arranges registration events chronologically and compares old and new information. For an older event, use a document for the required date or request the specific filed record. [1] [5] [8]
Accounts and overseas purchases
The English search form opens without login and includes a CAPTCHA. The official Information Services user guide from 2018 also describes guest ordering; an account mainly adds facilities such as stored order history. The enterprise-filing instructions concern a different process from researching an existing enterprise. [7] [5]
For overseas purchases, the card issuer matters. The official payment FAQ from 2018 accepts international card brands only when issued by a bank in Vietnam and excludes cards issued abroad. Have payment support confirm the currently usable payment route before relying on it for an order. Alternatively, submit an information request to the competent registration authority. [6] [1] [2]
For a guest purchase, keep the order reference and delivery email. The user guide describes retrieving an order through “Order ref. No.”. Its full list of previous orders is restricted to logged-in account holders. [5] [7]
Financial statements and announcements
The fee schedule provides for copies of filed financial statements at VND 40,000. The statutory information function covers financial reports stored in the national system. Specify the financial year and confirm the version held. The current comprehensive profile includes only basic financial information according to its product description; it does not automatically supply a complete set of financial statements. [4] [2] [1]
“Bố cáo điện tử”, or “E-gazette services”, provides official enterprise announcements. Publishing a registration announcement costs VND 100,000 under the fee schedule. This is the publication charge, not a general price for reading an announcement. [1] [4] [7]
Beneficial owners and ordinary ownership information
Beneficial-owner information is expressly excluded from the general paid registration-information request. Competent state authorities can request it from the national registration administration for anti-money-laundering purposes. [2]
From 23 July 2026, the rules address direct and indirect ownership of at least 25%, aggregation of certain family or contractual groups, and all general partners in partnerships. Separate rules address actual control and, as a fallback, the individual with the greatest management authority. Identification requires tracing the ownership chain to the ultimate natural person. Bulk information
The statutory schedule includes bulk supply through a pre-registered account from 125 information copies per month, priced at VND 4,500,000 monthly. The portal also offers information products by individual agreement. This tariff is not an open, free API. For a dataset or recurring updates, agree the specific delivery with Information Services. Avoid common mistakes
- The temporary 50% registration-fee reduction through 31 December 2026 applies to enterprise registration. It does not halve the information prices of VND 20,000, 40,000 and 150,000 shown here. [9] [4]
- “Thông tin đăng ký doanh nghiệp mới nhất” means current comprehensive information, not immediate delivery. The portal also schedules this report for 08:00 the day after payment. [1]
- A founding shareholder, a legal representative and a beneficial owner are different roles. Do not treat any one of them as proof of current ownership without checking what the record actually establishes. [1] [3]
- The user guide describes the English supplement to a Vietnamese certificate as a reference translation only. For official use abroad, check the recipient’s requirements for translation and confirmation. [5]
Frequently asked questions
Can I check whether an enterprise is registered without paying?
Yes. Basic registered information is free. Use the enterprise code, which is also the tax number, for the clearest match. The search includes a CAPTCHA. [2] [7]
Do I need a Vietnamese user account for every search?
The search form is public. The official 2018 Information Services guide also describes guest orders. Registering an account to file enterprise applications is a different process. Successful overseas document payment additionally depends on an accepted payment route. [5] [7] [6]
Which document shows name and address changes?
The history report compares old and new registered details over the past three years. It costs VND 150,000. For earlier periods, use the described as-of-date certificate option or request the particular older document. [1] [5] [8]
Are full financial statements included free in a company profile?
No. The tariff for copies of filed financial statements is VND 40,000 per copy. The VND 150,000 current comprehensive profile contains only basic financial information. Order the required financial statements separately and specify the financial year. [4] [1] [2]
Can I pay to access the reported beneficial owners?
The general paid information request expressly excludes these reported data. The law provides access for competent state authorities for anti-money-laundering purposes. Ordinary member or founding-shareholder information is a separate category. [2] [1]
