Choose the right register
VUE brings company formalities together. Its official description lists separate units for technical intake, notarial work, commercial registration, tax identification and the treasury. Unidad de Registro Mercantil handles commercial registrations and their associated forms. [1]
The ministry lists Certificado Conciso and Certificado de Registro en la VUE as separate records. Therefore request the registry evidence with current particulars expressly, rather than asking generally for a “company certificate”. [2]
Names and abbreviations explained
Search step by step
Obtain the appropriate company record
Identify the legal entity
Obtain the full legal name, registered office, available commercial registration number and NIF. For a branch, distinguish local registration from the foreign parent company. The ministry’s branch procedure expressly also requires parent-company documents. [2]
Address the Registro Mercantil specifically
Use VUE as the initial contact and ask for the competent Unidad de Registro Mercantil. Specify Certificado Conciso, the company and required record date. Ask about current third-party access, accepted identification and any required power of attorney. [1] [2]
Establish the fee and issue format first
Obtain written confirmation of the fee for this specific certificate. Ask separately about ordinary or certified copies, document language, digital delivery and international dispatch. The published historical formation fees are not a reliable tariff for this request. [1] [2]
Documents and fees
| Document / information | Contents and purpose | Fee | How to get it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Certificado Conciso [2] [1] | Registry certificate concerning the specific company; establish contents, currency and certification with Registro Mercantil. | Ask the registry for the current fee for a third-party order. | Specific request to the registry unit, preferably with an existing registration number. |
| VUE registration certificate [2] | Certificate of registration through the VUE procedure. Do not equate it with the separately required Certificado Conciso. | Confirm the fee for a requested duplicate with VUE. | Ask VUE for a copy of the particular certificate; establish third-party eligibility separately. |
Registry office and application route
The ministry describes VUE’s responsibilities and document types in its 2019 launch information and Doing Business 2020 material. For a current company certificate, contact the Unidad de Registro Mercantil. [1] [2]
Filing language is not issue language
The formation guide lists Spanish, French and Portuguese as languages for submitted documents. It does not promise that an ordered registry extract will be issued in each of those languages. [2]
