Choose the right register

The announcement of 15 April 2021 permits natural and legal persons from Nicaragua and abroad to use the status query. It does not state a Nicaraguan residence or passport requirement. This applies to the described query, not automatically to every document-ordering process. [1]

Article 51 of the registry law generally allows persons and organisations to obtain information from entries. Certificates, reports and copies are distinct output types. [2]

Names and abbreviations explained

SINARESistema Nacional de Registros

Documents and fees

Document / informationContents and purposeFeeHow to get it
Certificación literal [2] [4] [5]Certificate reproducing the specified registry entries.Paid and dependent on scope; obtain a current fee assessment.Request from the competent registry, identifying the company, NAM and required entries.
Certificación relacionada / negativa [2] [4]Summary certificate of specified entries or a negative certificate concerning the expressly identified registry matter.Confirm the current price for the specific inquiry.Describe precisely what is to be certified. An unsuccessful online search is not a negative certificate.

Why historical fee schedules do not price a current order

Article 8(4) of the 2015 fee law lists NIO 150 per photocopied page and NIO 250 per transcribed page for commercial-registry certificates. These are historical base amounts. Article 18 provides for adjustment every second January; the 2023 reform confirms publication through SINARE. An order in 2026 therefore requires the currently applicable assessment. [4] [5]

An individual inquiry differs from a database copy

The law permits information requests but restricts the creation of parallel databases. Once records are digitised, unrestricted direct access to the old paper books must not be assumed either. Request the particular certificate you need rather than a copy of the entire registry. [2]

Avoid common mistakes

  • The citizenship requirement for appointment as a registrar concerns registry staff. It is not an access requirement for foreign searchers. [2] [1]

Frequently asked questions

Can I search from abroad?

SINARE expressly includes foreign individuals and companies in the status-query service. Request documents separately from the competent register. [1] [2]
