Choose the right register

The registries cover individual traders, companies and associated legal acts, including certain representations of foreign businesses. Article 9 of the published registry law establishes public consultation of registry entries. That right must be distinguished from an operational online search service. [1] [5]

SARENServicio Autónomo de Registros y Notarías: The registry and notarial authority. Registro Mercantil is its commercial-registry function. [1] [2]

Search step by step

Request the required documents

Identify the company and registry office
Collect the full company name, registered location and available registry details. If you have an instrument, transcribe its office, date, number, volume and file reference. If the competent office is unknown, ask SAREN first. [5] [2]
Request the correct document copy
Specify the constitutive instrument, later amendment, company resolution or required parts of the file. Ask expressly for a copia certificada. Confirm identification, representation, remote application and the current total price. SAREN lists +58 212 819 2300 with extensions 2351, 2353, 2355, 2357, 2358 and 2359. [1] [5] [2]
Establish requirements for overseas use separately
For the SAREN documents listed by the foreign ministry, legalisation and subsequent apostille have been electronic through tramites.saren.gob.ve since 11 June 2026. First establish the required registry copy and how to obtain it. The apostille service does not make the platform an open third-party company search. [4]

What the public Consulta page actually checks

The form requires a PUB number and includes a PUB Mercantil option. It validates an existing transaction. Without the relevant number, the form establishes neither a company’s existence nor the contents of its registry file. [3]

Electronic apostille since June 2026

The official list includes company incorporation and meeting documents, company files and certifications of financial statements. For these SAREN documents, the announcement removes personal attendance at diplomatic or consular offices for the relevant legalisation or apostille process. Ordering a copy of the company record from the registry is a separate step. [4]

Price copies, authentication and delivery separately

The registry law provides for paid certified copies. The version published in 2021 contains historical charging limits. A current SAREN assessment is needed for today’s order. Specify page count and document type, and ask for registry charges, legalisation or apostille, representation and delivery to be priced separately. [5] [2]
